Clarendon Food Tour

Clarendon, located between the Ballston and Rosslyn areas of Arlington, Virginia, has often been referred to as the trendiest and chicest of Arlington's urban villages. After the arrival of the first streetcars in this neighborhood in the late 19th century, Clarendon became the unofficial downtown of Arlington.

Since the construction of the Clarendon Metro Station, the neighborhood has evolved into a vibrant, nightlife destination. The culinary scene in Clarendon is home to a wide range of authentic ethnic cuisines, including popular favorites such as Mexican, Italian, Thai, Spanish, and Japanese restaurants. Once known as ÒLittle Saigon,Ó after the influx of a large Vietnamese population in the 1970s, Clarendon was also once home to many Vietnamese restaurants, a few of which still remain today.

Clarendon is characterized by a strong sense of community among both residents and small business owners in the area. This sentiment manifests itself through a variety of neighborhood organizations and special events, including a year-round farmers market every Wednesday afternoon.

On our Clarendon Food Tour, we sample some of the signature dishes at iconic restaurants of the area and explore the unique characteristics of this young and exciting urban village.

During this three hour event, guests will enjoy:

  • A progressive meal held at three critically acclaimed family-run restaurants
  • A walking tour of the Clarendon neighborhood, including stops at historical landmarks
