What a great way to learn some history and eat the best food each restaurant offers! The tour ran on time and was a lot of fun. We recommend it!

Excellent tour with just the right mix of current information, historical anecdotes and surprisingly good food from restaurants hidden in plain sight.

We had a wonderful time. Jeff was very personable and knowledgeable. The resturant selections were varied and there wasn't a thing served that I didn't like. I will highly recommend this tour to others. And will definitely take the Capital Hill tour when established.

This wonderful tour fulfilled many of our interests. History, architecture, walking, meeting new people, trying new restaurants, and trying new foods from other cultures. The guide was quite knowledgeable and accommodating. We toured with our 18 year old daughter who enjoys most foods, and then our 16 year old son. He is a burger and fries guy. To our amazement he not only tried the foods but enjoyed them. You will not go hungry, plenty of food for everyone. Highly recommend not having lunch, but rather have a late breakfast. Enjoy yourself.

I highly recommend this walking food tour of Old Towne Alexandria. I not only learned a lot about the city that I live near, but got to become familiar with a few really excellent restaurants. The tour guide was well organized, educated on his material and made it an excellent afternoon!

we walked around the most gorgeous little town, and listened to our tour guide telling us about history of those very old houses, it's very interesting, and food tasting is not just a bite or two from here and there, it's actually a sit down meal, and after 3 of them, believe me, you will get full. I think it's a very pleasant tour.

We attended the tour with 6 other people. The tour guide was informative, kind, and friendly. We enjoyed all the food and when the tour was over we felt like we'd eaten a LARGE meal. The "samples" were not what we'd consider samples, but more like meals. We did a food tour in NYC recently that did not have as many "sit down" meal samples and the samples were much smaller! We would highly reccommend this tour!

My husband and I participated in a historical tour of Old Town which to our surprise, included stops at four restaurants/shops. We both agreed that highlights were a visit to Christ Church, the Torpedo Factory, which included the Archeological Museum, and visits to restaurants that were not on King Street which we wouldn't have known about had it not been for the tour. Our tour guide was very informative and knowledgable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to gain knowledge about Old Town and spending a pleasant afternoon sightseeing and tasting delectable foods!

I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested the History of Old Alexandria. There is quite a bit of walking so come prepared. We got to sample a variety of different dishes which some of us in the group liked and some disliked...but that was the fun of it...trying out new foods. I liked that you got to sit down in the restaurants and be served a tasting plate of the restaurants specialties. I would have loved to sample more foods though - but maybe that's just me. The historical part of the tour was more than I could handle because I was there for the food - but that was my husband's favorite part of the tour - he thought the tour guide was very knowledgeable and loved it more than the food. Overall it was a good experience and well worth the price! Thanks for a great time!

We were promptly met by our guide who was very informative and pleasant. We were taken to four restaurants and the portions were fantastic, our guide (also the founder of this tour) had carefully chosen all the tastings himself and a great deal of thought has gone into this. A great variety of food from oysters, ribs, Lebanese and much more. In-between tastings we walked around Alexandria Old Town and our guide was most knowledgeable regarding the history and even fit in a visit to a couple of museums and a church. The tour ended at a fantastic tea shop, like an Aladdin's cave and as requested a most unusual Birthday cake came out for a friend of ours. This is a FANTASTIC afternoon out and highly recommended, and we will be bringing our visiting guests again. Just one tip- don't each much beforehand as you will be stuffed full by the end of the tour!

Jeff was an enthusiastic guide, full of energy. He knew tons of history regarding Alexandria and its architecture. The food choices were delicious, especially our first stop. We would definately go again!

Jeff has a great thing going! The Old Town Alexandria Food and Historical Walking Tour was fabulous! It seems like Jeff has been doing this for 6 years not only 6 months! He is very knowledgeable and knows his food! I would recommend this tour for couples, families without children, and groups of friends. It was definitely 3 hours well spent!

Although I have traveled the world and been part of many tour groups, I have never experienced a tour like this one. It was a wonderful afternoon with a unique combination of history and food. The history of Alexandria came alive through the interesting stories and historical presentations by our tour guide. As we walked through Old Town, we virtually became part of the city and its past. It was obvious that the restaurants were carefully chosen as excellent representations of an Alexandria the usual tourist does not experience. The owners of the restaurants took the time to explain a little about each restaurant's history and the food. The food itself was outstanding, and the portions were generous. I can't wait to go back and try those restaurants again! The timing of the tour was perfect, and the the food couldn't have been better. This tour is clearly one of the best values in the DC area. Our tour guides, Jeff and Sharone, were delightful and made the tour so much fun. Don't miss out on this experience; I would go on the tour again in a hearbeat!

My husband and I like to walk, enjoy history and architecture, and appreciate good food, so this was perfect for us! Our guides were very well informed and interesting while walking, and the whole group was very comfortable. The points of interest we visited whetted our appetites for more-- we would like to go back to explore some of the museums more throughly on our own. The food was absolutely fabulous-- we stopped at an interesting variety of places, and sampled some wonderful menu items. If we were staying more days on this visit, I would have gone back to every one of the restaurants for a full meal. This would be a great experience to have as an introduction to Old Town at the beginning of a vacation, so it could be used as a way to get an overall picture of the area, and what to go back to do, to see, and especially, to eat, on following days. I'm so glad we did this, and thanks to our hosts for the fun memories!
